Hebrews 4:1-13

Therefore, since the promise to enter his rest remains, let us beware that none of you be found to have fallen short. Hebrews 4:1

Rest can feel like a chore. When can a person truly ever rest? This week's passage builds off of the previous section that called us not to harden our hearts to God's voice. If we remain sensitive and responsive to him, there is the enjoyment of his rest. In these opening words, we are called to 'beware' that we do not fall short of that rest.
'Beware'  is a strong word that indicates severity if we ignore entering into God's rest. But how will we know if we have fallen short? How can we perceive that we have entered the rest of God in a way that is distinguished from the nation of Israel who hardened their hearts towards God? We will explore these indicators and see how we may, ourselves, ensure that we have entered into God's res
