Good FridayFriday 7:00-9:00 Hey Everyone! Before I get into the regular newsletter, as some of you are aware this past weekend we had an issue with our church network and website. The church staff did not receive any emails sent between last Thursday and yesterday evening, and I was unable to access the mailing lists to send out the youthquake registration link, or to even communicate that we were having tech issues on our end. Sorry for the inconvenience, If you are awaiting a response from me, please resend any emails sent during that time, and I have put the new youthquake registration plans below the Good Friday section. *** GOOD FRIDAY Due to it being Good Friday this weekend, we will not be having regular youth. In its place. As we have done in previous years, we will be opening up the chapel for a time of prayer and reflection, followed by worship, a devotional, and communion. There won't be any canteen, games, or small groups as normal, and the evening will only run from 7:00 until 9:00 instead of our regular 10:00. This is a smaller event, and historically has around 20-30 youth in attendance. Now, we are aware that Easter weekend is a busy and important time for families, and we are not wanting to compete with that. This event is intended only for those who are free, and either were unable to attend a Good Friday service in the morning, or would like a little more designated time to reflect on the importance and meaning of Good Friday. You are welcome to attend, but if you are unable, that is totally ok! I will also mention that if you do not have a normal good Friday service you are planning on attending, we will be having one at WEFC for 10:30 am. We will also be having an Easter sunrise service at 7:00 AM on Sunday for anyone wanting a more intimate Easter celebration, and then there will be some food in the atrium before and our Easter services (with baptisms!) at 9:00 and 11:00! |
Youth Quake Registration - Attempt 2Grades 9-12 | April 29th - May 1st | $200 Apologies to any of you who were trying to register on Saturday. We are going to run a similar registration strategy, but hopefully the whole website doesnt vanish on us again this time... Considering our spots are limited, I want to make this as fair as possible, and so rather than dropping the link today, I will email out the registration link tomorrow (Wednesday) at 6:00pm when hopefully most parents will be available and home from work. If the spots all fill up before you are able to register, there will be a free waitlist category when you sign up. Should someone drop out for whatever reason, we will pick whoever is signed up for the waitlist in order of when you joined it! Lastly, I had said that registration would be open for a week before we start offering spots to other groups within the city to make sure we use up our spots. This is still the case, but instead of this happening on Saturday, I will push it back to this upcoming Monday instead. If there is any reason that you would like to go, but do not know about the dates, please let me know, and I will see what I can do for you. I hope this all makes sense, and again sorry for all the confusion. If you emailed me with questions or concerns - I did not recieve them, but I hope this clears it all up! If you still have any, please contact me, and I will get back to you as soon as I can! -Silas You can find more information about the Youthquake and it's schedule by Clicking here, and you can see their list of frequently asked questions (i.e sleeping arrangements, medical care, and more) by Clicking here! |
