This Week At Youth
Jr High: Minute To Win It Games | Q&R Panel It's amazing the types of challenges that can be made with a handfull of household items, and a timer. And this week, you get to comptete against one another in a series of skill testing activities fit for a TV show! But first, we will be bringing in pastor Len to come help answer as many of your questions as we have time for! We've collected a number of questions so far, but if you have some you forgot to submit over the last few weeks, we will still try to get to as many as possible! It's going to be a busy night! Sr High: Coffee House + Relationships II After the response to the previous lesson on relationships, we have decided to add on another lesson to this series and attempt to tackle a bit more on the topic, specifically more practicies for heathly relationships, singleness, and more. To round out the night, we will be having a hangout, fellowship, coffee house evening! There will be some light board games and discussion questions to help spur on conversations, and then following the lesson there will be time for small groups prayer and discussion. |
YouthQuakeGrades 9-12 | April 29th - May 1st | $200 You guys have been asking about Youthquake for a few years now, and I'm excited to say that after a lot of behind the scenes work and quite a few road bumps causing the unfortunate delay of this announcement - but we are finally able to announce that we are bringing a group out this year! We will be carpooling in our bus with another youth group from Lorette and driving out to Caronport Saskatchawan in just over 5 weeks! However, before we get too deep into the details, I want to set the tone a little bit for this event. Youthquake is a weekend long high-energy retreat for senior highs, that has been running for 60+ years out of Briercrest Bible college in Caronport Saskatchewan. It's a cool experience, and one many of you have heard of before. However, I want to present this as a bonus activity rather than one we have built our year around. In other words, I know there are a lot of you who have been asking about Youthquake for a few years now. There was even a signed petition last year, and so - we are willing to provide transport and supervision for anyone who is able to go, but if this is out of your price range or something that doesn't work for your family, that is totally Ok! We will still have regular youth as normal during this weekend. We put all our focus into our personal retreat and see that as immensly valuble to our ministry year and so we work really hard to make sure that finance is not an issue for anyone, but budgetwise, we just aren't able to do that for Youthquake too. If this goes well and is something we choose to make a staple of the ministry in the future, we will adjust the ministry to accomidate that, but for my first year of youthquake with WEFC, I don't want families to feel extra pressure to spend a lot of money to avoid feeling left out! Now, don't get me wrong. This is still a really awesome opportunity, and we have been able to reserve 20 spots for youthquake at the early bird price before they sold out a month and a half ago! Because they sold out very fast right around the time of our own youth retreat (we didn't want to be pushing two expensive events at one time), we guessed at how many people we could safely guess would be coming and this is the result. Now to be as fair as possible, I will not be sending out registration links today to give you all time to talk it over with your parents/youth and to make sure that everyone has a fair chance to get one of the spots. Registration will be opening at noon this saturday and will be open for a week before offering some spots to another group in the city in the case we can't sell all of ours.
