Hebrews 9:15-28

And just as it is appointed for people to die once—and after this, judgment— so also Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him. Hebrews 9:27–28

As we have explored the way Jesus is the agent of our salvation, we need to remember that his work is complete and final. It will be a temptation for us to revert back to old ways of performing religion to experience the salvation that our souls crave. Instead, these words remind us that Jesus bore our sins in a complete and final matter, so that we do not need to slip back into empty religious practices that do not fulfil God's law or desires. May we continue to put our trust and reliance on the good and complete work of Jesus and look forward to the salvation that he will bring to us upon his return.
