1 Corinthians 15:12-22

Now if Christ is proclaimed as raised from the dead, how can some of you say, “There is no resurrection of the dead”? 1 Corinthians 15:12 (CSB)

The church in Corinth wrestled with a number of issues, but none so great as their perspective about the resurrection of Jesus. There were questions about the resurrection of the dead, leading Paul to address the matter. The resurrection of Jesus is the central proclamation of Christianity, so it is a crucial matter to settle in the mind and to commit to in faith. In this passage, we are brought into the difficult realities that crop up if there is no resurrection and if Christ did not rise from the dead. Jesus’ resurrection holds so many implications for our life and death; our faith and salvation.
