The hospitality industry provides lodging, food, drinks, transportation, and entertainment for people who are on the move. COVID-19, with its contagious nature and the resulting restrictions, has caused major disruptions in the hospitality industry, but it will bounce back because the society’s demand for hospitality is huge. Nestled within the book of 1 Peter, there is an important “one another” statement that is also facing Covid challenges. 1 Peter 4:9 says, “Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.” Technically, hospitality is described as the “love of strangers.” It’s a bit risky to befriend strangers, but it’s still an obligation that believers have. For the sake of protection and fellowship, believers were exhorted to be hospitable to other believers. Today we’ll spend some time talking about the practice of hospitality, which is one of the practical ways in which believers “love one another.”
