1 John 2:28-3:3

“Dear friends, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet been revealed.” 1 John 3:2

As we conclude this series that focuses on our new life in Christ, we examine a portion of Scripture that points us towards an ongoing pursuit and anticipation for every person who follows Jesus. We have the comfort of being God’s children who have trusted in Jesus for forgiveness and new life, but what we will become has not yet been revealed. This is a reference to the resurrection that those who believe in Jesus can anticipate. In the surrounding words, we have the encouragement from the apostle John to remain in Jesus so that when he appears, we are able to have confidence and comfort at his appearing.
