Colossians 2:8-15

“Be careful that no one takes you captive through philosophy or empty deceit…” - Colossians 2:8

In this week’s text, we explore how Christ Jesus compares with the philosophies and other good ideas of the world. Paul describes these alternatives to Jesus as ‘empty deceit’. Sometimes we can be tempted to buy into such ideas, but we find here that there is a fullness that we find in the person of Jesus that counters the emptiness of these ideas. We find the fullness of Jesus adds depth and meaning for our lives that we live within. Through these verses, we further discover the riches that we have in believing in and following Jesus.
