Hallmarks of Christian Unity

The New Testament church was a group of people that included Jews and Gentiles, slaves and slave owners, males and females. The potential for disunity was huge, but the Apostle Paul made it clear that there were several factors that made it possible for the church to experience and enjoy unity. The diversity in the church today makes it very easy to become disunified. Paul exhorts believers to “make every effort to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. As we focus on Ephesians 4:1-6 this week, we’ll explore some of the hallmarks of Christian unity that need to be maintained.
