God is still talking...

God is still talking...

One Church Prayer … spending an hour in prayer and song – sounds like a hit?  You are already working your phone to book off Tuesday, November 21 @ 7 pm.  Excellent, but in case you are having second thoughts …

We have all heard of the importance of prayer.  It is said by some that “Prayer is the most important thing,” (which probably isn’t true, but it does sound good).  Prayer, without question, is very important; an essential.  It came as a bit of a shock when I heard something to this effect: “The reason we do not pray is because we do not want to pray” (and that statement is true from the opening quotation marks to the closing ones).

I don’t pray because I don’t want to pray.  Change the wording just slightly to get the gist of what it is that is being said, “I don’t talk to God because I don’t want to talk to God” (and we have hit the proverbial nail squarely on the head).  Now, this may seem like it is “guilting” us into prayer.  If so, that is okay.

The point is that God has designed human beings that we do not operate on non-communication.  We require conversation, we crave hearing and being heard.  Silence for a season is okay, but every day, all day?  … no thanks.

Come hear God’s Word and respond in song and prayer at One Church Prayer, Tuesday, November 21 @ 7 pm.  God is still talking and He truly does desire to hear us.
